Cuckfield Park, Sussex

Patrick was employed to produce a schedule of paint colours and finishes for this Elizabethan house

This was another project with family connections for me. Members of my father’s family had spent a lot of time here in the nineteenth century as they lived at nearby Horsgate. I was able to show my clients photographs of how it once looked.

I was employed to produce a schedule of paint colours and finishes for a number of the rooms in Cuckfield Park a fine Elizabethan house in Sussex.

This was one of the photographs,

Robert Polhill Bevan and Walden at Cuckfield Park in the early 1880s

which were taken in the early 1880s. Here is another view:

This presentation gives a bit more of the background.
