The Air Forces Memorial, or Runnymede Memorial, near Egham, Surrey, England is a memorial dedicated to some 20,456 men and women from the British Empire who were lost in operations from World War II.
The memorial was designed by Sir Edward Maufe (1882-1974) who was the Commission’s principal architect for the United Kingdom after the Second World War.
He also designed the 1939-45 extensions to the Naval Memorials for the Commission, and Guildford Cathedral.
I was commissioned to carry out the paint analysis of the ceiling of the dome.
