The central block of the Neoclassical building Somerset House was designed by Sir William Chambers and dates from 1776–96. It was extended by classical Victorian wings to north and south. I was asked to advise on the decoration of the offices of The Inland Revenue, which were housed in one of the later wings.
I have also carried out paint analysis on various elements including The Civil Service Rifles’ War Memorial and worked on the sculpture in one of the pediments.
