Queen Anne’s Gate, Westminster

Patrick Baty carried out the analysis of an early 18th century house in Queen Anne's Gate, Westminster

I was commissioned to carry out the paint analysis of a very interesting early 18th century house in Westminster.

71 individual decorative schemes were found on the exterior of the house and this helped date a number of different elements including internal ones.

Queen Anne’s Gate – early 20th century

The paint for the house was specially mixed by Papers and Paints. Much of the interior was painted with a paler version of a colour that had originally been used by John Fowler in the Entrance Hall at Syon House.

I wrote up some of my findings in a blogpost entitled History seen in 300 years of paint.
